The impact of sin upon human life, upon the relationship between men and women, and upon nature is explained in Genesis 16- 19. Suffering is a natural consequence of sin. Sin disrupts the relationship between the Creator and his creatures, and the humans are banished from Eden. Genesis 23- 24
