How Christ Has Saved My Life

I was raised in a religious home and went to 12 years of private school. As a family we went to church every week. But something was missing and I felt empty inside.

My search began with delving into the New Age. I purchased a variety of books on several subjects but the gap was not filled. In fact I even felt emptier and sad that I did not find what I was looking for. Even though I did not know it then, God had His hand on me for I did not get very deeply involved in the occult.

We see in Jeremiah that God knew us before we were even born. “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5

God made me for a purpose.that at that point only He knew. He kept my leash short so I could not go over the edge.

My search continued. All my life I felt lonely even when in a room full of people. I never felt like I belonged. I was always “out of the loop.”

I began reading the Bible. At first it did not make a whole lot of sense, but soon I began to feel comfortable reading it. But one question that I had was what did it mean to be saved. Even though at sporting events I would see signs that said John 3:16 but I never went to that scripture. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Finally I wrote to a Christian radio station and asked how to become saved. They sent me a letter and material that set me on the right path.

Shortly after I began a new job and my immediate supervisor was a Christian. She and I became fast friends always talking about God. I began going to Bible study with her and was amazed. I found what I was looking for. Although at that time I did not give my life to Christ.

It was a few years later when I met my husband . We were at an event and it was there we both gave our hearts to the Lord. We have been walking with Him ever since.

We both enjoy sharing Jesus Christ with others and bringing them to Jesus Christ.

In conclusion, God allowed me to test the waters and choose my own path for awhile. But He kept knocking at my heart as I was stubborn and wanted to “have it my way.” But once I turned everything over to God, my life has never been the same. Challenges still arise, but I am not alone. God walks besides me and sometimes He even carries me through the rough spots.

Life was hard and confusing. But once I turned my life over to God I feel more complete and not so alone.

I learnt how to be a Christian from a co-worker and other Christians I have met along the way. Also reading the Bible has enriched my life greatly. Today as my husband and I walk together we are learning from each other.

Today life is reading the Bible daily and learning all I can. My husband and I pray every day together. Our life is also filled with helping others not only learn about Jesus Christ but also those that are less fortunate and try to give them hope.

Do not wait to give your heart to Christ. Do it now as none of us know when our life will end. We are not promised tomorrow.

Also as the world gets darker, only in Christ will you feel the safety and protection. Man cannot give us the security you are looking for. Only God.

This is a great platform to share your passions with others.
