MercyMe is a very popular American Christian rock band from Greenville, Texas. The band members are Bart Millard (vocalist), James Bryson (keyboardist), Robby Shaffer (percussionist), Nathan Cochran (bassist), and Michael Scheuchzer and Barry Graul (guitarists).
The band was formed in 1994 and has released six independent albums before they signed in 2001 with INO Records. Their crossover single, “I Can Only Imagine” gained mainstream recognition which their debut album, Almost There, went to double platinum certification. The group has released six additional studio albums (four have been certified gold) and a greatest hits album. MercyMe also has 13 consecutive top five singles on the Billboard Christian Songs chart, seven of which reached Number one. They have also won eight Dove Awards and numerous Grammy Awards nominations. MercyMe released their eighth studio album on April 8, 2014, entitled, “Welcome To The New.”
