The Shinar Directive

“Today the path to total dictatorship and the US can be laid by strictly legal means, unseen and unheard by Congress, the president, or the people. Outwardly we have a constitutional government. We have operating within our government and political system, another body representing another form of government- a bureaucratic elite. We have a well organized political action group in this country, determined to destroy our Constitution and establish a one party state…

The important point to remember about this group is not its ideology, but it’s organization. It is a dynamic, aggressive, elite corps, forcing its way through every opening, to make a breach for a collectivist one- party state. It operates secretly, silently, continuously to transform our government without suspecting that change is underway…

If I seem to be an extremist, the reason is that this revolutionary clique cannot be understood, unless we accept the fact that they are extremists. It is difficult for people governed by reasonableness and morality to imagine the existence of a movement which ignores reasonableness and boasts of its determination to destroy; which ignores morality, and boasts of its cleverness and outwitting its opponents by abandoning all scruples. This ruthless power seeking elite is a disease of our century…

This group… Is answerable neither to the president, the Congress, nor the courts. It is practically your removable.”

John 3:3-5

  1. Jesus answered and said to him, verily, verily, I say unto the, except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.
  2. Nicodemus saith on them, how can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the 2nd time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
  3. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto the, except a man be born of water and Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God.

What do we know about Nicodemus? We do know he was a ruler of the Jews, a Pharisee and possibly very wealthy. Nicodemus went with Joseph of Arimathea to embalm the body of Jesus after the crucifixion. He brought about 100 pounds of costly spices that only a wealthy person could afford. As a ruler of the Jews meant that he was one of the 70 Sanhedrin, and, according to Jesus, he was a teacher of the Jews. The Pharisees numbered about 6000 men who had dedicated their entire life to keep the codified (arranged laws/rules into a systematic code) law. They also recognized that the 1st 5 chapters of the Old Testament were God’s inspired word to man.

Matthew 6: 19 – 24 Wealth

Wealth

Matthew 6: 19 – 24. Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 22. The lamp of the body is the eye. If, therefore, your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness! 24. No one can serve 2 masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

Do not lay up, but lay up may be rephrased as do not give priority to this, but give priority to that. This passage does not mean that it is sinful to have such assets as insurance, retirement plans, and savings accounts. After all, parents are to save for the children.

Mammon refers to wealth, money, or property. No one can serve two masters, because a time will come when they make opposing demands. Jesus advised us to invest in our future with him by giving of ourselves; Mammon encourage us to collect material objects for our present enjoyment.

Genesis 14:22

Genesis 14:22 but Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have raised my hand to the Lord, God Most High, the Processor of heaven and earth,

Abram raised his hand as a symbol of a strong oath. In other passages, It was a sign of defiance, Abram identified Yahweh, translated here as the Lord, with the God most high. This is a clear statement that he and Melchizedek both worship the true, living God.

Genesis 14:19

The Lord Owns Everything On Earth.

Genesis 14: 19 and he blessed him and said: Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth;

And he blessed him; Melchizedek is the first to be bless Abram; thus he comes under the special provision of God’s promise of blessing. Blessed be Abraham: the words of the blessing are in two lines of poetry, making them more memorable, as well as adding a sense of power and effectiveness. The phrase God Most High is used in both lines of the blessing, for special emphasis. Possessor may also mean Creator.

Galatians 5:1

5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Paul is going to apply the spiritual truth to the lives of the Galatian believers. To be children of the bonds woman is to be enslaved to the covenant from Mount Sinai, the law of Moses. To be of the free is to follow Abrahams example of faith, to be “born according to the spirit”, and to be destined for the “Jerusalem above”. Understanding such realities, the believer in Christ must continually stand fast in the liberty of not having to keep the law of Moses, in order to be saved. The Galatians were on the verge of becoming enslaved to the law again.

Psalm 46:10

Psalm 46:10 be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

The Lord was saying, be still. The call for stillness before the Lord is not a preparation for worship, but for the impending judgment, God will be exalted, all the earth will bow before Him.

1 Chronicles 29: 11-12

11 Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the Kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as head over all. 12. Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; in Your hand it is to make great And to give strength to all. NKJV

The purpose of the Temple was to exalt the Lord, and to acknowledge the universality of His kingdom. David modeled before the people to worship of the living God, it typically starts with the praise for God’s eternity, his complete control over the universe, and his great power. He is the glorious master over all.

David confessed that the riches and honor. He enjoyed had come from God’s generosity. The offerings he and his people had just made were possible only because God 1st had given to them, able to offer so willingly: not only the ability to give, but the willingness to give, is the gift of God.
